Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is a Mediterranean and cosmopolitan city with Roman remains, medieval quarters and the most beautiful examples of 20th-century Modernism and avant-garde. It is no surprise that emblematic constructions by the Catalan architects Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Doménech i Montaner have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
The city's origins are Roman, and its long history and economic dynamism have made Barcelona a cultural city, which can be seen in its historic-artistic heritage and the promotion of the most innovative artistic trends.

The well-deserved reputation of Spanish gastronomy ´shared either by professionals or people who enjoy the art of good eating- is in line with a rising tendency to regard cuisine as a distinctive element of culture. People travelling abroad are increasingly taking an interest in gastronomy since they understand it is an identity sign of the country´s culture. Enjoy a half day hands on cooking workshop, in direct contact with local cuisine in a warm, cheerful, participative atmosphere. At the end of the session, you are invited to enjoy a taste of the dishes prepared during the workshop.
Antoni Gaudí is the most famous architect of the Catalan Modernism movement, and there are several Gaudí sites in Barcelona Spain that you can visit. Although Gaudí is best known for his masterpiece Sagrada Família as well as Casa Batlló and Park Güell, there are many other Gaudí works that you can see and visit in Barcelona. Some are well-known, others are seldom visited. Although not widely appreciated during his lifetime, Gaudí’s works are now widely studied by architecture students worldwide, seven of his works have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, and Sagrada Família has become one of the most visited tourist attractions in Europe.
On day 3 of this short break to Barcelona, start with a short drive from Barcelona drive to El Penedes wine region. We arrive at the Penedes wine country where we are joined by a resident winemaker for a private tour of his fields and facilities, and most importantly a generous and varied cava and wine tasting in his wine cellar. Between his explanations and your questions, you`ll learn all you`ve ever wanted to know about Spanish (Catalan) wine and cava elaboration methods of the past and present. In the wine cellar among the oak barrels and aging bottles of product, you`ll enjoy a generous tasting of wines and reserve cavas, accompanied by a wonderful catered lunch or dinner of Catalan cuisine. Before returning to Barcelona, guests will have the opportunity to personally make a bottle of cava in the old artisan fashion to take home with them. After returning to Barcelona.
On your last day, your private chauffeur will take you to the airport and say the final goodbye.
