Cies Islands: Known as The Islands of Gods by the Romans

The Cies Islands are an archipelago located at the mouth of the Bay of Vigo. These islands were declared a Nature Reserve in 1980, and are included in the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park created in 2002. It consists of three islands: Monteagudo, Faro, and San Martiño. The first two islands are connected by a long strip of sand called Rodas Beach, one of the best beaches in the world according to "The Guardian" British Travel Magazine.

They are considered to be the greatest treasure of Vigo Bay which is why the Romans named them "The Islands of the Gods".

There is a total of nine beaches surrounding these islands with fine white sand and clear waters, Rodas, Figueiras, and San Martiño are the largest ones.
