Traditional Galician Folk Music From Santiago de Compostela Featuring Os D'Abaixo

The Galician Folk Music Group "Os D'Abaixo" was founded in 2010 with the main objective of promoting traditional dances and local festivals around the capital of Galicia, Santiago de Compostela. Their live shows offer a selection of music charged with power and energy, connecting to the most traditional music in order to encourage the ancient dances. The group is formed by musicians who have spent their entire lives linked to the folklore of Galicia, as well as others from folk bands with a long history such as "Berrogüetto" or "Fía na Roca". The members of the group are: Richi Marin (percussion), Santi Cribeiro (accordion and choirs), Gon Goás (guitar and backing vocals), Xacobe Varela (bagpipes, bouzouki and voice), Roberto Rama (bagpipes, sax, tambourine and choirs), Quim Farinha (violin and choirs).

The Interceltic Festival of Morrazo is a folk music festival held in the fishing village of Moaña, located in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, and part of the O Morrazo Peninsula. This festival more than 20 years old, was born thanks to the Gaitas School of Moaña "Semente Nova" who was in charge of organizing the first edition. It was celebrated under the name of I Festival Nocturno Celta do Morrazo (I Celtic Night Festival of Morrazo) on the 15th of August, 1985. The main objective of the Interceltic Festival of Morrazo is to promote traditional Spanish folklore and the new trends in this musical genre, internationally and nationally. In 2003 it was declared of cultural interest by the European Union and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain. Apart from the local Galician folk music bands other artists from all over the world participate at this music festival from Scotland, Northumbria, Ireland, Canada, and Brittany.

The Concello de Moaña is in charge of organizing this festival that is celebrated every year at the end of July or beginning of August, this year is the 38th edition and takes place on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of July.
