We´ll begin our adventure in the stunning O Rosal Valley, one of the sub-zones of the renowned D.O. Rias Baixas wine region, known for its breathtaking landscapes and world-class wines. This area is particularly famous for producing outstanding Albariño, a crisp, aromatic white wine that has gained international acclaim. In addition to Albariño, the region is also home to the distinctive Rosal wines, crafted from a blend of local grape varieties, including Albariño, Loureiro, and Caiño, offering a unique expression of the terroir.
As part of our experience, we will also have the opportunity to taste the Caiño monovarietal wine, a relatively new addition to the region´s offerings, which has been receiving glowing reviews for its bold flavors and character. We´ll take a tour of one of the most prominent wineries in the area, where we´ll delve into the winemaking process and learn about the history and techniques that make these wines so special.
We will continue making our way along the stunning, rocky southern coastline of Galicia, where the rugged beauty of the landscape meets the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, we´ll make a stop to explore the charming seaside village of Baiona, a place rich in history and character. Baiona holds an important place in the past, as it was here in 1493 that the first word of the discovery of the Americas reached Europe when the ship La Pinta sailed into its bay. We´ll take a leisurely walk through the village, soaking in its historical significance and picturesque surroundings. Afterward, we will either return to Vigo or choose to stay a bit longer in Baiona to further enjoy its quaint atmosphere and coastal views.
